Festive Holiday 2015 Makeup Look: Tutorial

Two blog posts in a day! Yes, I am on a roll. The reason behind is because I really wanted to share with you both Holiday looks I've come up with this year. Last month, I was asked to do a collaboration video along with 11 other beautiful youtubers. Each of us did a holiday makeup inspired by a birth stone. The birth stone was assigned randomly and I got Alexandrite, which is a color changing birthstone for the month of June.

Alexandrite appears to be an emerald green in daylight and purplish red under incandescent light. However, when you look at birth stone charts, you'd see Alexandrite as a lilac shade so I just opted to do both colors, lilac and purplish red. I couldn't incorporate the green one because I really wanted the look to be wearable so I went to the purple side of things.

One Brand Holiday Glam Look: Tony Moly

Personally, I feel that a good holiday glam makeup is defined by red lips. I usually picture my holiday makeup with red lips. This year, I am creating my look using one brand and one brand only- Tony Moly. Tony Moly is a good Korean cosmetics brand.

I recently joined their Holiday Glam Makeup Video contest where I made a video showing how I would do my makeup using Tony Moly products. I thought I's share it to you for a couple of reasons: 1. So you can watch the tutorial. 2. So you have the option to recreate this this holiday season.

To start off, here's the makeup look. It's just a very simple eye look with bright full-on red lips.

South Korea Beauty and Skin Care: Haul

Hi guys! Today's post is just going to be a very simple haul post. Remember I went to South Korea last December? Here's the haul I got during that trip. I honestly restrained myself from buying too much products in Korea, and I feel that I did a good job by resisting the temptation of buying every single cosmetics there. Hehe!

Frankly speaking, buying cosmetics in Korea is so much fun since most Korean brands offer good quality makeup for drug store prices. If you didn't know, I am a huge fan of Korean cosmetics. Before going to South Korea, I did my research and listed the things I needed and wanted to buy. I tried my best to stick to that list but of course, there were unnecessary purchases that I didn't plan ahead. In my defense, I think I still did a good job during my shopping spree so I request my readers to please give me a pat on the back (if you read this). ;)

Travel: South Korea Day 1

Hi everyone! Today's blog post is something I'm really excited about. I've put off writing about it for a long period of time but last night I decided it's time for me to reminisce my good old days in South Korea. Oh, and there's a vlog at the end of this post if you're interested to just watch what little clips I filmed during our first day.

If you're a new reader, I think it is just courtesy for me to let you know that since 2007, I've been a Korean culture enthusiast. It started off with my love for Korean drama, which actually helped me to stumble upon Korean pop music. Little did I know, I was already hooked on anything Korean. This is why it doesn't come as a surprise that one of my dreams is to actually visit the land of South Korea.

Valentines Day Makeup: Tutorial

Okay, I guess we can say that I'm late on this. For some reason, after uploading this makeup tutorial on youtube, I was already satisfied that I forgot to make a post here. Apologies to my blog followers. (Sorry!) Hopefully, you can still find an occasion to use this kind of makeup. Personally, I think the look is very versatile. You can use it for a first date, a day out with friends and practically any kind of occasion.

This is a quick and easy look with the focus on flirty lashes and bright pink lips. It gives the impression of having spent so much time on your makeup when in reality, you probably just spent 15 minutes on your makeup.

Very Light Ash Blonde Hair Color Experience

Ever since I started coloring my hair back in college junior year, I just can't get enough of coloring my hair. Don't get me wrong. I'm not, at all, addicted to it. I only color my hair twice to three times a year, max. It's just that many people have told me I look better with lighter hair so whenever my roots start to be unforgiving, I try my best to color my hair with at least a light brown shade.

Late last year, however, I had this desire to color my hair red. Of course, before going through that, I did my research and most succesfful people who've tried to DIY coloring their hair red started with light colored hair. I personally already had light brown hair from coloring my hair with Liese Prettia Milk Tea Brown in the earlier part of the year but my roots have grown so much, I just had to retouch on them.

Happy Holidays everyone! I seem to have forgotten to schedule a post yesterday so I failed to greet everyone a Merry Christmas. I hope this blog post makes up for it, though.

MEMEBOX Global #15: Haul

Before anything else, let me tell you a little something about Memebox. You might have heard of this before but for those who have only seen the name "Memebox" just now, I am here to help satisfy your curiosity.

 Credits: Memebox website

Now that you have an idea of what Memebox is, it's time for me to tell you how I got a hold of this particular box completely for FREE. About 2-3 months ago, I joined a giveaway hosted by Sparkly Chee and in that giveaway, I won 10 MEME points. (Thank you!) Meme points can be used as cash in the Memebox Global website. I used that along with the one-time discount code "TRYMEMEBOX" that slashes $15 off of your purchase. Because of that, I was able to get the box without spending anything. Aren't I lucky?

Wicked Witch / Frankenstein Halloween Look: Tutorial

I told myself I was gonna blog more this week but I wasn't able to since I've been sick like hell since Sunday. I thought it was just going to be a short illness but it seems like whatever I've got is taking its time. I feel a little better today, though. I've got no fever and I'm almost not dizzy anymore. I still feel a little weak and I still have a bit of headache but I guess I can work with that. Since I'm sick, I thought this would be a good excuse to just make a post out of my most recent youtube video upload.

KARA Mamma Mia Makeup Look: Tutorial

I am one lazy kid. I knew I was supposed to have a post scheduled today but I was procrastinating too much that the day is almost at its end. And because I'm not in my 'writing mode', I just decided to share with you one of my makeup tutorials in my youtube channel.

This is actually K-Pop inspired. I'm not sure if you know of Kara but they are one of South Korea's most successful girl groups, especially in Japan. Although Nicole and Jiyoung already left the group, Kara still stands strong with a new member, Youngji. Their latest song is Mamma Mia and this look was inspired by their MV for that.

Basically, the look is a bronzey, goldish look. I really like their eye makeup. I feel that it is versatile as it can pass both as a day and night look. What do you think?

I'm filling this post with several photos to eat up space. Haha. Yes, that's how lazy I am. :)

If you want to know how I did this particular look, make sure to watch this video below. Otherwise, you can just comment down below on what you think of the makeup look basing from the photos above. :)

July Favorites (Makeup, Skin Care, KPOP, Music, etc.)

It's 11:30PM right now and I'm currently editing my next youtube upload and I just realized that I still don't have a post ready for tomorrow. Now because my goal is to sleep earlier (at around 2AM) today, I won't be doing a review for today. Instead, I will just share this clip with you:

It's simply a July Favorites video featuring the things I loved during the month of July in terms of skin care, makeup, music, movies, etc. I've also talked a little about what has transpired in my life so consider it as an update as well. Sorry if this post comes off as rushed but I really need to get back into editing. I will try to make a better post for tomorrow but just in case I don't, at least you have something to read/watch (unless you're a subscriber and you've already watched it). :)

AOA Short Hair MV Makeup | 에이오에이 - 단발머리 메이크업

Before I go on with the formal content of this post, I would like to invite everyone to join my ongoing giveaway. I will be giving away a hair dye from the Japanese brand called Dariya Palty in the shade Milk Tea Brown, which happens to be one of the popular shades they have. It is open internationally so everyone is encouraged to join. :) (You will probably see this introduction in most of my future posts up until the giveaway is over. I hope you don't mind the post by post plug. ^^)

Here's a little bit of an update on what's new in my youtube channel. I just published a video earlier today with a simple makeup tutorial inspired by one of K-Pop's (not so) new girl group from FNC Entertainment (Yes, think C.N.Blue, F.T.Island and Juniel!), AOA or Ace of Angels. They recently released a new music video called Short Hair. It's an upbeat catchy song that I like to listen to on repeat. I like how cute and colorful the whole music video, which finally urged me to do a makeup look inspired by it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTU0rLoIbv8
(Click on the photo for the tutorial)

I was mainly looking at Hye Jung's makeup and that was the look I was going for but somehow, after publishing it, a viewer commented that it looks more like Seolhyun's, which I happen to agree with. I'm not sure but whenever I try to recreate K-Pop looks, it doesn't really look exactly the same (probably) because my eye shape is different than those of Korean stars.

 Expectation: Hyejeong makeup
Reality: Resulted as Seolhyun (Doesn't matter though, because both are pretty. ^^)

Anyway, it took me a longer period of time filming and editing this particular tutorial because I wanted the output to be an improved version of my previous uploads. I managed to get some new filming ideas thanks to ClairBellaTV, as she shared a few filming tips in her latest main channel video. So I give her all the credits for the better outcome of my videos from hereon. Yay!

Anyway, check out the fruits of my hardwork, the video itself, over HERE. Thanks!

THEFACESHOP 더페이스샵 Face It Aura CC Cream: Review

Hi everyone! I'm back with a long overdue post. I had this item up in my youtube account more than a month ago. The clips were filmed back in December and the video was edited and uploaded mid-February. I don't know why I kept on procastinating this written item review. It was one of my 'most precious' beauty purchases last year (2013) and I was really excited to use it. I am still using this very product to date but I don't know why it took me so long to write my review down.

Anyway, I won't be dwelling much onto that since I am, in fact, ready to share my thoughts on this product. To be honest, I have been more active in blogging. I write down a review every other day which means I write about 3-4 posts a week. But even though I write as much as that, I still have a lot of back logs. Many photos of different items are still stored in my hard drive and it's driving me nuts! Anyway, I just really hope I get to keep this up. Oh, and I'm also restarting my Asian drama/music blog called Yoboseyo-Asia. You might wanna check it out if you're into Asian (Korean, Japanese, Thai) dramas, movies and music.

So there goes my off-topic paragraph. I'm sorry I had to mention those. Anyway, I am here to review my THEFACESHOP 더페이스샵 Face It Aura CC Cream in #2 Natural Beige. It has SPF 30 and PA ++. I got this from an online store called Kkochipida (http://shop.kkochipida.com/) with Ms. Charm. I got it for cheap at PHP795, compared to the commercial local price of PHP 1,595. If you're in a tight budget and you're into Korean cosmetics, I highly recommend that you get your stuff from Kkochipida. The link directs you to their site. Just to let you know, though, I purchased this particular product with my own money. I was not sponsored and all the things that I will be writing down are all my honest opinions derived from my experience of using the product.

Although I did get the product in mid-August, I only got to start using the item in December, shortly before my visit to Japan. It was winter then and I wanted to get an item that I can use to keep the moisture locked in my skin even under the cold winter weather. It was a battle in between my two other BB Creams and this. But since CC Creams are known to have more skin care benefits than BB Cream, I opted to bring this along with me.

Below would be my thoughts on the product in different aspects.

PACKAGING:

This could actually be considered a skill. Within a few minutes after opening the product, I immediately messed the sponge with a smudge of the actual product. Product photo op fail! Sorry!

One of the most interesting things about this product is the packaging. It comes as a fairly thick compact as opposed to other products that comes in a tube. I personally like how it looks like and the puff that comes with the product also works pretty well. Aside from that, the compact has a mirror so you don't have to worry about on the go touch ups.

COLOR:

As I've said, I got it in the shade #2 Natural Beige which is a good match for my skin. Unlike other CC Creams, this particular product from THEFACESHOP comes out as a beige tone cream, instead of the usual white ones that changes color upon blending onto the skin. I actually like the color of this CC Cream as opposed to other CC Creams I've tried in counters before.

COVERAGE:

Since CC Cream is known to provide more skin care benefits as opposed to BB Creams, coverage is not really their forte. This item, however, is an exception. It has light to medium coverage and can definitely even out skin tone and hide redness and light blemishes on the skin. Although if you have bumps on your face caused by pimples, I suggest you cover it up with a nice concealer.

CONSISTENCY:

As expected, the product is a little thick but creamy. I prefer to apply it using the puff, as opposed to my fingertips since it blends better with the puff.

FINISH:

It has a slightly dewy finish so I always set it with face powder. To be honest, I don't use this product when I know I would be outdoors since it's very humid here in the Philippines. I only use it when I know I would be using it indoors where air conditioning is expected. It has, however, served me so well during my stay in Japan last December 2013, during winter season.

LONG TERM EFFECTS:

Since I stayed in Japan for 3 weeks, I expected to have dry patches here and there throughout my stay. But that didn't happen. Aside from my usual moisturizer, I feel that this product helped contribute to that.

Now, before I end this post, let me share a demo/ overview video of me using the product with the use of both my fingertips and the sponge that came with the product (comparison).

K-Pop Smokey 스모키 Make-up 메이크업: Tutorial

I was about to skip on today's post but I remembered how I was trying to get myself to be more committed on blogging so I decided to just transfer one of my youtube's content just so I don't miss on today's post.

Here's a K-Pop inspired makeup for all of you out there. To tell you the truth, I had Jessica's look in Mr.Mr in mind when I first started filming but while filming, I deviated a bit and turned it into more of a 2NE1/T-ara smokey eye makeup. What do you think? Which K-Pop artist does this makeup lean more towards to? Whoever it is, I'm pretty sure I was inspired by K-Pop girl group smokey eyes while working on this so I probably would just call it my take on generic K-Pop smokey makeup.
