Holika Holika Egg Soap Special Set: Review

Happy Easter everyone! I may not have easter eggs to show off but I have this- Holika Holika Egg Soap Special Set. Holika Holika Philippines was kind enough to send me this for review. I've tried some Holika Holika makeup but not skin care. I figured it's about time that I do so which is why I wholeheartedly accepted the offer.

They have an ongoing promo where a purchase of any egg soap product, whether 2-pc or 4-pc, will get you a Jelly Cleansing Puff which retails for PHP165 until supplies last.

I searched online for existing reviews on this line and surprisingly, it has good reviews. This set comes in four variants- white egg, green tea, red clay and charcoal. The white egg soap is for pore tightening, green tea is for moisturizing, red clay is for removing dead skin cells and charcoal is for sebum control. I have oily, acne prone sensitive skin and we all know that April is the start of summer here. The temperature gets warmer and warmer plus the humidity makes us sweat more than ever. This is the reason why I chose to try the charcoal soap first.

South Korea Beauty and Skin Care: Haul

Hi guys! Today's post is just going to be a very simple haul post. Remember I went to South Korea last December? Here's the haul I got during that trip. I honestly restrained myself from buying too much products in Korea, and I feel that I did a good job by resisting the temptation of buying every single cosmetics there. Hehe!

Frankly speaking, buying cosmetics in Korea is so much fun since most Korean brands offer good quality makeup for drug store prices. If you didn't know, I am a huge fan of Korean cosmetics. Before going to South Korea, I did my research and listed the things I needed and wanted to buy. I tried my best to stick to that list but of course, there were unnecessary purchases that I didn't plan ahead. In my defense, I think I still did a good job during my shopping spree so I request my readers to please give me a pat on the back (if you read this). ;)

Holika Holika Holiday Vita B Daily Mask: Review

Here in the Philippines, most people would be satisfied to just look at the product description and instructions when choosing a product for themselves. In Korea, they go as far as looking at each of the product's ingredients as they are very familiar with each of them. They're very meticulous when it comes to skin care. This is the very reason why I trust Korean skin care trends. If South Koreans are very careful on choosing products that they apply on their skin, then that means I can trust their routines.

One of the trends that they follow would have to be the "One Mask A Day" routine. This is a trend that was popularized by Korean actresses and was revealed to be one of the secrets as to how they keep their skin youthful and glowy.

Personally, I was hesitant to try this trend. I do apply face masks but only once or twice a week. I never go more that that because I'm afraid that everyday mask sheets would be too rich for my oily, acne prone, sensitive skin. That's why I never tried it out until I bought this Holika Holika Holiday Vita B Daily Mask.

This product is actually a pack of 10 mask sheets that you can use for 10 consecutive days. It claims to be a product that would help make your skin clean and clear. I got this from a Korean online store called Kkochipida for the price of PHP195. There are other variants for this line too. If I'm not mistaken, there's an 'A' and a 'C' too. But because I am plagued with a lot of blemishes, I felt that the 'B' description fits me better.

Once opened, the product expires in 3 months.

I used this particular item for 9 consecutive nights in replacement for my serum and moisturizer. So after washing my face and applying toner, I immediately applied the mask sheet and left it on my face for about 20 minutes. For storage, I like to keep the pack inside a cool place (refrigerator) just so it gives a refreshing feeling when I finally use it.

To my delight, it yielded to the same face mask results that I was expecting. It made my skin soft, moisturized and it helped to calm down some of my active breakouts. Now that I've tried it out for myself, I find it funny that I was previously scared of trying it out.

I would definitely repurchase this if Kkochipida restocks on this. I'm not sure if this product is available here in the Philippines as there are no nearby Holika Holika boutique near my place but fret not, because you can just order it online like I did!

Holika Holika All That BB Cream : Review

Hi guys! I'm here for a long overdue post regarding a particular BB Cream that I've used last year. I bought this as a gift for my sister but I also got to use it for a few times (with permission, of course) so that I can review it. I actually already have a video up regarding this particular product and at the end of the video, I promised to write a more in depth review on it but I never got to do it shortly after I had the video up so I'm just doing it now.

I got this BB Cream from an online shop called Kkochipida. No, I'm not sponsored. I bought this with my own money and all the things I'm about to say are my personal opinions.

As I've said in the video (if you've watched it), this particular product is not one of Holika Holika's popular items. One of their more known products would have to be their Aqua Petite Jelly BB Cream that has been one of the most raved BB Creams of all time (in youtube) especially during summer season. There's limited review regarding this particular product so I decided to give it a try and tell you guys how my experience was with using it as a makeup base.

PACKAGING:

Let's first talk about the packaging. This particular product comes in a bluish purple packaging with a pump. Yes, it has a pump! Yay! Need I say more? I love pumps! It helps in controlling the amount of product to be dispensed, it's hygienic and it just looks better overall.

COLOR:

I got the shade no. 2 Natural Beige. At first, I thought that the shade would be too dark for both my sister and I but I tried swatching it at the back of my hand and I then thought it was going to be too fair. After blending everything completely, though, I was fine with the result. The shade is brightening and it has evened out my skin tone.

COVERAGE:
With one layer, it has successfully covered some of my imperfections. On a regular basis, I don't use concealer anymore since it already does a good enough job of brightening my under eye area and evening out my skin tone. You can also use two layers for more coverage but for full coverage of pimples and scarring, a little bit of concealer is needed.

CONSISTENCY:

The BB Cream in general is not sticky. At first, you would feel the presence of the BB Cream but in a few minutes, it would be as if you're not wearing anything at all.

FINISH:
This has a slightly dewy finish that is suitable for many skin types. I personally am oily and even though it's slightly dewy, it doesn't make me look greasy.

LASTING POWER:
I actually just apply this once on my face and I never retouch. Fading occurs right about the 4 hour mark but I only reapply powder and I'm good to go.

LONG TERM EFFECTS:
This BB Cream has SPF 27 and a PA ++, which is a good addition to my SPF 60 sunscreen. The packaging is all in Korean so I don't really know what it promises but one good thing about it is that it doesn't break me out.

This is a good BB Cream for everyday use. We already used it up and the only reason why we're not buying another tube is because we want to explore other BB Creams in the market for reviewing purposes but otherwise, I wouldn't mind buying the same product again.

Collective Haul: Kkochipida, Watsons, Landmark, Forever 21

Hi everyone! It's my last week of being on leave so I might as well make the most of it. I will be sharing with you a collective haul. These are mostly stuff that I bought and got ahold of for the past week, starting last Saturday. I didn't really buy a lot but I did buy more than I usually do. I'm not sure if I told you this before but I'm not really a spender.

Last Saturday, the package I have been waiting for has arrived. I bought some Korean cosmetics online from a store called Kkochipida and had a really good experience. After settling my dues last Friday, I informed the store owner and she immediately replied that she will be shipping my orders on that same day. The next day (Saturday), my package arrived! I was super happy! She even gave me some freebies! Yay!

 Package came via JRS Express

Holika Holika All That BB Cream and THEFACESHOP Clean Face Clear Away Spot

Freebies: Skin 79 Hydrating Gel and Fluid Sample. Yay and thanks! :)

If you're planning to buy Korean cosmetics, this is one store that I would recommend. :)

Last Sunday, however, I got my regular acne control facial from Flawless and had the chance to drop by Watsons afterwards. I saw a post regarding this product over some blogs and wanted to try it out so I bought one for myself.

Gluta-C Intense Whitening Underarm and Bikini Skin Whitening Gel

Then came Tuesday and I had to drop by Makati to settle something from work so I strolled around Landmark and got ahold of these lovely babies.

Just some random Landmark accessories. Really affordable.

Last Thursday, I had to go back to Makati for my scheduled check-up and dropped by Forever 21 afterwards and got this top. This was actually a top that I tried on the day before (Tuesday). I didn't buy it since I was shopping alone and I kind of wanted an 'okay' from a trusted person before I actually bought it. I ended up just taking a picture of myself while wearing it and left. That night, however, I showed the photo to my mom and she absolutely loved it. I came back for it last Thursday and immediately bought it. Good thing they still had my size available (last piece).

Not only do I like the tiger print, I also love the studs on the shoulder area. I was not able to take a photo of the actual product because they already washed it earlier and is now our for drying.

So yeah, this wraps up my haul. I'm not sure if these kinds of posts are interesting enough for you guys but then I really just wanted to share these products with you. If you want reviews on some products I've showed you, just comment down below.
