Marionnaud Natural Cellulose Cleansing Sponges: Review

I've got to be honest. Rather than spending my money buying Clairsonic or other cleansers of the sort, I'd rather buy quality skin care items and use a cheaper alternative that does the job. But really, I don't have the funds for it so I tried this out on a whim. Fortunately, this trial turned into a great discovery, which is why I'm sharing it with you.

Last December, white strolling around SM Megamall Beauty Section, I stumbled upon this natural cellulose cleansing sponges from Marionnaud. Priced at below PHP 50 (From memory. I lost the receipt, sorry.), I figured it wouldn't be bad to try it since I've been using my Holika Holika Cleansing Jelly Puff (PHP 165) for a few months since then. I think it's been about 2-3 months since I started using it and I felt like I needed to change it for sanitary reasons.

I went to the Holika Holika counter to purchase one but to my disappointment, they didn't have one in stock. Because of this, I tried to look for an alternative and it led me to this.

I was hesitant at first and I had to read the product description if this is indeed a sponge that may be used to scrub the face. Having oily, acne prone skin, I feel that regular exfoliation really helps with my skin condition. It helps lift off dead skin cells and prevent dirt and oil build up to help prevent me from breakouts. Thankfully, the description claimed that this particular product is ideal for cleansing and exfoliating all types of skin. Thus, I bought one pair.

I started using this particular product last December so I'm pretty sure I've used it long enough to give you a review. Initially, I felt like this product is a little abrasive and I was scared that it would be too harsh for my skin. However, I still pushed through with using the product in the hopes that it wouldn't. I just had to control the amount of pressure I had to use whenever I scrub my face. To my delight, I found that using this product really helped me a lot with my skin problems.

I only use this product at night, after lathering my kojic acid soap from the Dr. Alvin line on my face. I find that after using this, my skin feels extra clean and it really helps keep my skin blemish free. I especially find this useful on days when I use makeup because it removes extra products that weren't removed by my makeup remover and just by simply massaging face soap.

This is a hidden gem that I haven't heard much about. I highly recommend this product.

With Love,
Anna Luisa
