Belo Essentials Skin Care Set: Review

I guess a part of being a beauty blogger is taking the risk. Because I want to review different products for my readers, I tend to buy not-so-good stuff (and I only find that out once I already tried the product) from time to time. Sad to say, Belo Essentials Skin Care Set became a part of my 'disappointment list'. Why? I'll be going through that later. Let me tell you the story why I bought the product in the first place.

While looking for a good alternative to my usual skin care routine, I saw mixed reviews about the Belo Essentials. There were really good reviews and others were the other way around. Naturally, I became curious. I thought that if this product really worked for me, then I'd be able to have a skin care set that costs less and is easily accessible. And so, I bought the whole set (smaller packaging). I bought the face wash, toner, day and night cream. I was also able to try their lotion but I don't think I have a snapshot of the product, sadly.

Here's a little run down of what I think of each of the product:

FACE WASH:

This face wash has a really good chamomile scent (yay!). It does not lather so don't expect foams to appear while using this. It's not that easy to rinse off (at least from my perspective) but it does not leave your skin dry afterwards. Now, I expected not to feel clean after rinsing it off (because that's what I usually feel when I use products that do not lather) but I found that this is not the case with Belo Essentials. I felt clean. Not squeeky clean but I don't feel as though there were leftover oils and dirt inside my pores. As a matter of fact, this would have been a great product, had it not broken me out. Yes, you read it right. It broke me out! But I did not throw the product away so fast. I thought maybe this is the kind product wherein you get breakouts first then eventually makes your skin looking flawless. But then I already finished one small container and my face did not improve. So in conclusion, I believe that if you have oily (non-acne prone) skin, this would be a great product for you. It's good in controlling oil but not acne.

TONER:

It's weird that the back shot goes before the front shot. Oh well, not gonna fix it. xp

I don't have much to say about the product except for the fact that I like the scent. It's pretty much the same with the face wash. It did not help with breakouts but was so-so with oil control. I didn't see any significant changes with my skin after using this so I just eventually stopped using it.

DAY AND NIGHT CREAM:

I'd have to say I wasn't disappointed with these two. It's just that I wasn't impressed with them either. It was just so-so in terms of its consistency, scent and oil control. It did not break me out but it didn't help with existing ones as well. It took me quite a while to finish the whole thing but during that period of time, I didn't notice any pore tightening nor whitening effect.

I guess this just wasn't the product for me. But do remember that people have different skin types. In writing this review, I hope I could help some people decide if they'd want to get this skin care set but do keep in mind that my experience may vary from yours. What did not work for me, may work for you and vice-versa. I'm simply stating my own thoughts on the product.

Human Nature Balancing Face Toner: review

So as my products to review are piling up, I really need to start writing down my thoughts on the products one by one as much as I can. I know I've been telling you this a lot of times (over and over again) but I've been really busy with work. I'm super tired too. Anyway, I always try to be as active as I can both here in my blog and in youtube. And speaking of which, have I told you I already moved out of my previous channel? I wanted my usernames to be the same so I went and moved out of my old channel to http://youtube.com/lotsofgirlstuff. I already posted a few videos so be sure to check it out and subscribe. :)

Now since I am here mainly to review this toner over here, I might as well tell you the story on why I bought the product. So I've been reading a lot of good feedback from this brand called Human Nature. I checked their site and was pleased to find out that Human Nature is actually a Philippine-made product and one that is 100% organic. I made a list of things to buy from their site but never got the chance to actually order some. After a while, I met a friend, who's also a dealer of Human Nature products. So naturally, I got my list and ordered from her. This toner was included in the lot.

I loved the smell (orangey) and I felt that the product did not strip me off of moisture. Now usually, when I find products that does not strip off moisture, I feel like my face is still oily even after using the product. That is not the case with Human Nature Balancing Toner. As I've said, it did not strip off the moisture out of my face but did not leave a greasy feeling afterwards. Also, this product did not break me out and it only costs roughly PHP 110.00. Human Nature is available for order online but I also saw this in different grocery stores (like Shopwise) and some department stores (Festival Mall) so yeah, it is readily available for purchase.

If you have oily skin, do try this one out. If you have existing breakouts though, don't expect this product to control them as I don't think it is very much recommended for that. I used a different toner for that. So yeah, I hope this review was helpful for you and I would really love to read feedbacks from you guys. Take care!

Pros:
- smell (love its orangey smell)
- cheap (roughly PHP 110)
- readily available
- does not sting/ strip off moisture
- does not leave greasy feeling afterwards
- does not break me out

Cons:
- doesn't control breakouts

Purederm Vitalizing Green Tea Pack: Review

English instructions at the back. :)

For the past couple of months, I've been struggling with acne problems. Yes, it's been established since way back then that I do have acne prone skin. Recently, however, my breakouts have been extreme to the point where I feel like my self esteem has been affected or something to that effect. But really, I don't want to dwell on that on this post. Just to give myself something to look forward to, I bought this face pack. I have previously tried the strawberry one (also from purederm) which is specifically made for acne prone skin but when I went to Watson's, this was the only one available. I still got it since it said it's for all skin types. Sadly, however, I do not remember getting any significant results from this particular pack. Here's what I think:

Pros:
- moisturizing
- cheap (PHP39.75)
- available locally
- good for all skin types
- does not break me out
- one sachet is good for more than one use
- nice green tea smell

Cons:
- did nothing for my existing breakouts
- if you're planning to use it a couple of times, the packaging could be a hassle

I guess if I were to describe the product in two words, I'd say it's an intensive moisturizer, much like the night creams but I guess a tad better. Now if you're only looking for a product like that, then I recommend that you get this one. As for me, I probably wouldn't buy this product again. I mean, I might re-purchase the strawberry one but not this particular variant. I just don't think this is the product I'm looking for.

.Etude House Haul.

Hi guys! I'm just here to share a photo of my latest haul in Etude House. Because I bought their beauty kit, I got 2 tickets to the pink fair and 2 makeup 101 pass. Later that day, I bought more Etude House products and got an additional 1 pink fair ticket. A week before the event, I found out I would not be able to attend the event because I had work to do. I urged my sister to attend the event even without me and she agreed to go with my mom and a friend. A day before the said event, though, they told me they wouldn't be able to ! I wasted 3 pink fair tickets and 2 makeup 101 passes. If I found out earlier, I would've given the tickets out to you, my dear readers. But anyway, it's not like they deliberately planned not to go. I'll probably film a haul video featuring these products next time. That's all for now! I have to go prep for work. Toodles~ :)
