Mestiza Soap: Review

I first came across this product while going through random youtube videos. Well, you know me. When I have nothing to do, I just go through my subscription list. I wasn't looking for anything in particular. I was merely video hopping when I saw a video by Joyce Sola where she mentioned this particular product. She mentioned it was good for back acne and I was instantly sold.

It wasn't my first time hearing (or seeing) the product as I have sample sizes kept as freebies from previous cotton purchases. I basically just looked for it in my stash and immediately tried it. I decided to be a little bit more adventurous, though. I used it on my face. I wasn't worried since the box description said it functions as both a bath soap and a facial soap. Eventually, I bought the full sized version as pictured in this post because I ended up really liking the product.

Product description says it helps clear pimples, black spots and stains on skin. It helps in whitening the skin and lessening bad odor. I can attest to every clam it has except maybe for eliminating bad odor because I never had it in the first place.

After using it for more than a month, I can confidently say it delivers what it promises. I used it during a time when I had major breakouts and this product really helped me dry them up quickly. It also helped lighten the acne scars I had so I was quite pleased with the results.

However, just like most whitening  products, there are cons you have to be weary about. It tends to dry out the skin and contributes to micropeeling. I highly suggest you slap on a good moisturizer when using this product. In my case, I use the Nature Republic Aloe Vera Soothing Gel at least twice a day  but you can use whatever moisturizer suits you the most.

It also causes a bit of sting when you wash your face and most especially when you apply skin care items. This is due to the micropeeling I was talking about. Personally, though, I do not mind these things.

As an adult who has been suffering from acne for a long period of time, I've been so used to these side effects that I take it as something that's to be expected. I can also confidently say that the amount of pros beats the minor cons its has.

I highly recommend this product. It is available in leading department stores, supermarkets and drugstores nationwide. Let me know what your thoughts are in the comment section below if you do decide to try this product out. :)
With Love,
Anna Luisa
