Etude House Bling Bling Eye Stick: Review

Today's product highlight is the Etude House Bling Bling Eye Stick. If you've been with my blog since 2014, you might have already seen this product on my blog. Back then, I only reviewed one shade, Golden Tail Star. This time, I have four! :)

I was fortunate to be one of Althea Korea's beta testers before they fully launched in the Philippines. I was given credits to be spent on their items and 3 of the items I got are these new shades (in my collection) from the Etude House Bling Bling Eye Stick line. I took the chance to include my old one to give you all 4 shades in my collection.

Visee Single Eyeshadow in SV006: Review

Hi guys! Today's post is just a simple swatch + mini review of a product that I had lying around my makeup drawer for months (maybe even for a year) without being touched. Of course, I didn't plan it that way. It just happened. :p

As mentioned in the post title, I will be talking about the Visee single eyeshadow in the shade SV006. I believe this is a Japanese brand as the packaging had Japanese writings in it. Correct me if I'm wrong, though... I got this from Jasmine as a prize for one of her youtube contests a while ago. It was kept at the very back of my makeup drawer so I hardly got to use it. Recently, after cleaning my makeup drawer, I took notice of it and now I'm finally making a review on it.

ELF Duo Eyeshadow Cream (Mocha Swirl): Review

Today's product review features a product from ELF. It's called the Duo Eyeshadow Cream in Mocha Swirl. It has two neutral shades that are best used as base for your eye makeup. Personally, I prefer the darker brown color over the other one but both works fine.

Etude House Bling in the Sea Proof 10 Bling Eye Stick (#05 Bling Wave): Review

It's time for another Korean trend post/review. One of the popular trends in Korea nowadays is creating/highlighting one's aegyosal. If you didn't already know, aegyosal is the bag that forms under your eyes when you smile. They believe that highlighting this area makes one look youthful. A good product to make use for this, in my opinion, would be eyeshadow sticks like the Etude House Bling Bling Eye Stick I previously reviewed. But for a more subtle aegyosal definition, I like to use this Bling in the Sea Proof 10 Bling Eye Stick in #05 BL601 Bling Wave.

I've actually had this product with me for a year now. It was given to me as gift by a good friend of mine, (Ma'am) EJ. (Thank you!) She was my manager and one of the few people at work who also liked Korean cosmetics. You can only imagine my excitement when she handed me this product when I came back from my birthday leave last year. I don't really know why it took me so long to post a review on it.

Anyway, it's very much reminiscent of the Bling Bling Eye Stick I previously reviewed. With almost the same packaging (this one is slightly bigger), they both function as an eyeshadow stick. This one, however, is just a white stick with bits of bluish purple glitters in it. Also, I personally like this packaging better because it looks girlier with the pastel blue color.

To be honest, I didn't know how to use it properly the first time I used it so noone noticed its presence on my lids. If you're gonna use it for your aegyosal, most people won't notice it unless you really pack it on, which I often do. It just leaves a nice shimmery touch on the bottom lids that makes people nearby notice and take a second look.

A better way to make use of the product is by layering it on top of a smudgeproof eyeliner. I prefer using liquid liners as gels and pencils stains and transfers to the the actual shadow stick. Since I always use it on top of a black eyeliner, the glitters stand out and becomes a lot more noticeable while still being wearable.

It could be because it's a cream form or maybe just because it's glittery, it is quite long wearing as I don't feel the need to reapply during the rest of the day. This is a good thing especially since I have oily lids and most products just tend to slide off my lids over time.

It's also very easy to use because it's in a stick form so you save a lot of time during the application process. So yes, no need for brushes! ^^

Nichido Stardust Palette (Totally Neutral): Review

Before I go on with the formal content of this post, I would like to invite everyone to join my ongoing giveaway. So I was going through my hard drive and I saw this folder containing 400+ photos of unreviewed items over the past year and my initial reaction was, 'Wow! What have I been doing last year?'. I definitely have more products to review than I originally imagined. I know I've been doing good lately as I've been blogging often (every other day) and taking advantage of my free time these days. But the amount of products to review is just overwhelming, I'm not even sure I will get to blog about all of them!

But enough about that talk, let us welcome the month of July by talking about one of the products I've purchased last year, to scratch off from that pile (of unreviewed items). Do note that the photos were taken using my old camera so the photos aren't as good as the recent ones but hopefully, these shots would make do.

So last year, I decided to do a makeup tutorial using local Filipino products only and I got this particular product from Nichido. It's their three-color eyeshadow palette called the Stardust Palette in the shade Totally Neutral. It contains three neutral (true to its name) everyday eyeshadow colors. It has a pale pink, a medium brown and a dark brown. All, when put together, creates a very lovely look.

Tried to do just show the swatches on my fingertips but the colors don't show up well.

Let me talk about each of the colors to give you more idea of the product. I will start off with the pale pink. The pale pink shadow is a nice color that I like to use to highlight my eyes. I often apply it under my brow bone and on my inner corners to brighten up the look. It is the lightest of the three and is also the least pigmented. I find that I really have to pack on the shadow for the color to hint its presence on my lid. It's especially harder when I use brushes so I like to use the foam applicator that came with the palette as it picks more of the product up.

In this swatch, the medium brown doesn't show up too much because frankly, the shade is a little close to my skin color.

The next shade I will be talking about is the medium brown. This is a really nice medium tone that I like to use on my crease area. It doesn't really create a loud eye contour effect, but more of a subtle shadow effect that I like to do especially when I (used to) go to work. At first, I didn't like the tone of the color on my lids but I eventually got used to it and it's now one of my favorite crease colors.

The last shade is the dark brown. This one is a really nice addition to the palette to provide your eyes with more definition, especially on your lash line/ outer V. It has a purple undertone so it looks a little bit purplish (Duh?) in some lighting. I received a lot of compliments regarding this particular shade when I first started using it. This is also the most pigmented of the three and my most favorite in the palette.

All three shades have hints of shimmer on the pan but doesn't appear sparkly when applied. When used all together, it creates a very neutral glamorous look. If you want to see how I usually use it, you can check out one of my old tutorials here:

The best thing about this product is that it is widely distributed all over the Philippines. I bought it from Watsons for only PHP168 so it definitely wouldn't hurt your budget. I highly recommend this especially for a neutral everyday makeup look.

Daiso Ellefar Princess Chiffon Eyeshadow (Twilight): Review + Swatches

I'm not sure if you've already seen my Japan 2013 haul but I included a photo of this particular eyeshadow in that post. This is actually not a personal purchase. My younger sister was the one who bought it. It was super cheap at only 105 yen from Daiso (in Northport Mall, Center Kita, Japan)! She bought four different variants and she was supposed to give them away to friends but she changed her mind and gave them something else. She opened one of the four and she told me I can just use the palette instead since she didn't really like it.

I was actually reluctant in accepting her offer because she was so honest that she didn't like the palette at all. So before using it, I swatched it at the back of my hand. Since it was just a cheap brand and because my sister's response wasn't all that good, I didn't have good expectations towards the product. I, however, was really pleased with it, considering its price. I think it passed my standards for an everyday eye make-up.

To be honest, it's not super pigmented nor very blendable. But it was good enough for me to use. I particularly like the shades as there were nice ones included in the compact palette-- shimmery pastel pink for highlight and a light and regular orange shade (perfect for summer). There was also a dark purplish brown shade, great for creating depth.

The only down side is that you cannot use this eyeshadow alone or creasing will form in just an hour or two (especially in Philippine's humid weather) and blending would be pretty hard. To resolve this, I like to use my Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer before applying it.

Overall, I like this product. It's not outstanding in any aspect but I will be putting it to good use for this season as I am into subtle eye makeup these days.
