Berry Lens Yori Violet: Review

Please join my Korean skin care giveaway HERE. Ends March 31, 2015.

Today's review is going to be a little bit different from my usual makeup and skin care posts. Over a month ago, I received a pair of circle lenses from Berry Lens 5 Plus One Online Shop. Grace, the owner of the shop, kindly contacted me and sent me a pair for review. Of course, I agreed and she sent me the pair of my choice-- Yori Violet. I'll try to talk about the product in terms of color, enlargement and comfort.

I got plano lenses. No grade.

Flexwear Blends II Contact Lenses (Gray): Review

I've been occasionally wearing contact lenses for a good five years now. I don't always wear them on a regular basis. I usually only wear them whenever there's a special occasion or something. I don't wear prescription lenses. I always go for plano. I actually have a little bit of an error of refraction but I can get away with using plano lenses because my eyesight is not that bad. I have a bit of nearsightedness on my left eye and astigmatism on my right but all the same, I can still see pretty well even without the aid of glasses. I sometimes wish I had prescription lenses, though. But the toric ones are super expensive.

When worn. I actually like my makeup in here. Do you? I made a tutorial on this! Interested? ;)

Anyway, I did not create this post to highlight my lack of funds when it comes to toric lenses. I made this so I can review this specific brand of lenses that my sister got from EO (Executive Optical). It is a three-toned design in the gray family. I particularly have a heart for gray lenses because I think it matches well with my originally brown eyes. Gray lenses offer the right amount of color lightening, without making me look stupid.

This has a diameter of 14mm, which is something that I like. Apparently, my eyes are small and doesn't look good with any lens that is over 14.2mm. I tried 14.5mm G&G Dueba lenses before and I just didn't like how it made me look-- like an alien! I've also tried different Geo lenses and through trial and error, I found out that the maximum diameter that is flattering on me would be 14.2mm. Oh, and just for additional information, this pair can be used up to one year upon opening the vial.

I find that this pair is quite comfortable on the eyes. I wore it for a little over 8 hours and it didn't irritate my eyes. I only felt dryness a little bit on the 4th hour mark. Just to clarify, though. I don't really wear contact lenses longer than 8 hours. I just lost track of time.

To give you more of an idea regarding this item, I will be embedding a video that I made that will show you how it looks like when worn. If you have any questions, make sure to leave them all down below. I would love to hear your thoughts and talk to you, my dear readers. :)

EOS E202 Green / Japanese Big Eyes Love Green Contact Lens: When Worn

Just as I've said in the video (below), this is not going to be a review because I've already posted a review on a lens of the same series, just in a different color. I'll just provide you with pictures and a video of how it looks like when worn since comfort and all that is pretty much the same.

Here's the video:

Now, here's my review on the EOS E202 (Violet) / JBE Love Violet.

EOS E202 (Violet) Contact Lens: Review

EOS E202 or the Japanese Big Eyes Love Series comes in five colors, if I'm not mistaken. Available colors are brown, grey, green, blue and violet. In this post, I will be reviewing Love Violet in particular.

here is what love violet looks like

Lens Details:
Power Grade: 0.0 only
Base Curve: 8.6
Diameter: 14.0mm
Water Content: 42%
Life Span: One Year

Now, I'm not an expert when it comes to contact lens but I have tried 3 lenses from JBE collection and 2 lenses from GEO. I can only tell you about what I know of these products. So I will be rating in terms of color, comfort, vision and enlarging effect:

COLOR: 3/5
COMFORT: 4/5
VISION: 4/5
ENLARGING EFFECT: 5/5
OVERALL: 4/5

More details as to:

COLOR: I gave it a 3/5 because I when I purchase violet lenses, of course, I expect to have violet eyes when I wear them. People don't actually notice it's purple unless they stand really really close to me. They look darker and it looks almost black at some point. I have brown eyes so maybe that's a factor on why it looks so dark on my eyes. However, I learned to like it since I like natural looking lenses more than those bright lenses that make you look like you're out of this world.

COMFORT: For comfort, I give it a 4/5 mainly because it's pretty much wearable. If you're the type of person who wears contact lenses everyday, I'm pretty sure this would come as an ordinary feeling with you so most probably, you'd give this a perfect score. As I don't wear lenses everyday, I do actually feel that they're in my eyes. It dries out in a few hours so I bring with me eye drops. I can wear this at around 6 hours (with occasional eye drops) without making my eyes look red.

VISION: Do note that I have myopia (both) and astigmatism (right eye only) but I wear lenses that doesn't have grade. But even if I wanted to buy one with grade, you can't cause love violet only comes in power grade 0.0. Good thing I only have really really low eye grades. I have 25 on my left (myopia) and 50 (myopia + astigmatism) on my right. So I go about wearing lenses with no grade. Anyway, as per vision, it does make things a little bit blurry at times but nothing too bad that causes bad perception. Do note that in sudden humid change, you will actually see sudden blurring (uncomfortable) but nothing that a few blinks can't overcome.

ENLARGING EFFECT: It has a pretty thick dark violet ring outside that makes your eyes look big even with only 14.0 diameter. I like the fact that the ring is also in violet shade rather than black which, sometimes, overpower the color of the lens itself. I really love the effect when I line my upper lash line and use this.

I bought this lens from THE PINKSHOPPE.
I dropped by their multiply account but I do know that they already have their website at http://www.thepinkshoppe.com/. If I'm not mistaken, they ship both locally and internationally and they have a lot of mode of payments to choose from. I bought ALL my lenses from them because they are so accomodating and they offer a lot of good items aside from GEO and JBE lenses. They also have promos from time to time too! :)
